Please attend the King County Council meeting on the Critical Areas Ordinace and  make a show of force at the meeting this Tuesday July 27 in Seattle.  Please pass this on to any other property owners you know in King County.

The Chairman of the GMUAC, Councilmember Dow Constantine, has told Councilmember Kathy Lambert that he doesn't feel that there is a problem with passing the CAO as he has not seen much opposition from the public.

The vote seems to be 6 Republican Councilmembers against the CAO and 7 Democrat Councilmembers for it supporting Ron Sims and the green parties like "1000 Friends of Washington".  Some "friends".

If you can't make it please submit your opinion online at this site which will be entered into the official minutes.

Thanks.

Subject: Come to the meeting!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

The King County Council Growth Management and Unincorporated Areas Committee (GMUAC) will be meeting to discuss the Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO) Tuesday, July 27, 2004, at 1:30 pm.

The Chairman of the GMUAC, Councilmember Dow Constantine, has told Councilmember Kathy Lambert that he doesn't feel that there is a problem with passing the CAO as he has not seen much opposition from the public.

WE NEED TO SHOW MR. CONSTANTINE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM!

Please come to the meeting Tuesday and make your voice heard. Tell your neighbors and email your address book. Councilmembers Lambert, Hammond, and Irons need our help to get the point across that we do NOT want the King County Council to steal our land.

If you want to testify before the council, come early. You must sign up to speak, and those who have not testified in the past are allowed to speak first. You will have only two minutes so make those minutes count.

If you don't want to testify, please come to the meeting anyway – we need to pack the room to overflowing!

The GMUAC will probably not be voting on the CAO at this meeting, but will do so sometime in August. Come and make your voice heard before it is too late to stop this legislation.
